We’re excited to share another CPI success story highlighting Petty Officer Second Class Nico Rano, an 11-year veteran of the U.S. Navy who served as an Air Traffic Controller. After completing hisProject Management-track internship with Fulton-Coastcon Construction in CorpusChristi, Texas, Nico recently accepted a full-time position as aSuperintendent/Assistant Project Manager.


From Air TrafficControl to Construction Leadership
Nico’s military career demanded sharp focus, precise decision-making, and exceptional organizational skills, qualities perfectly suited to the high-paced demands of project management in the construction industry. Through CPI’s internship program, Nico was able to seamlessly transition his extensive military leadership experience into the civilian sector.

A Successful Internship with Fulton-Coastcon Construction
BetweenJanuary 20 and May 10, while still on active duty in the Navy, Nico immersed himself in the daily responsibilities of construction project management. His internship provided hands-on experience in scheduling, site logistics, subcontractor coordination, and overall project supervision, solidifying his readiness for a permanent leadership role.

Building his new Career Path

Impressed by his dedication and strong leadership capabilities, Fulton-Coastcon Construction offered Nico a permanent position, ensuring that his transition from the Navy led directly to a meaningful career opportunity. Nico now steps into his new role with confidence, poised to excel and grow professionally in the construction industry.
